Spending time with old friends is really fun every once in a while. My friend, Maui bought her first car and Cris, invited us to her beach house in Naic, Cavite together with Cyril. While on our way, we drop by to buy food and eat goto. It was a night trip going to Cavite and everyone of us shared a story of what had happened after our college life. We stayed at Cris’ humble home with her very accomodating Mom. We had never ending chikas during the night, from crushes to petty quarrels with other classmates way back in college. The next day, we walk beside the beach and explore the place. Then, we decided to go to Caylabne Bay Resort in Ternate, Cavite.

The resort is 160-hectare that is known for its wide expanse of white sand. It has a panoramic view of beaches and forests. It is located in a secluded cove along the coast of Ternate Cavite. It’s one of the best and most promising resort hotel with a Spanish Mediterranean-themed.
While on our way, we stop and took a shot some of the nice views. After chillin’ out at Caylabne Resort, we decided to further explore other beaches nearby. We drove all the way to Philippine Marine Base Camp and enjoy the clear beach all afternoon. Lots of families and their kids were also their both enjoying food and the beach.

I never celebrated Mother’s Day with my own family. I just greet my mom and never had the chance to go out together. I cannot recall in when was the last the time we celebrated Mother’s Day as one family. But with JDAM’s family, they never fail to celebrate Mother’s Day.
They visited us in our apartment early morning and attended the Sunday mass together. To celebrate Mom’s day, we headed to Gateway Mall to eat lunch at the foodcourt. Of course, a Filipino dish is always expected when I’m with JDAM’s family. Papa Jun loves to eat sinigang, any type of sinigang would always do. Inihaw na liempo is also a sure winner to him. Mama Jocy’s favorite are prawns. With John Roy, JDAM’s second brother, loves to eat sweet such chocolates and ice cream. Jeremy Charles, the cute and cuddly youngest brother, prefers to eat rice porridge or hot soup.
After filling up our hungry stomach, we ordered dessert at our favorite Dairy Queen. Their blizzard is really heavenly taste. Later on, we decided to hang around at Timezone and buy my first Powercard. We play basketball, some arcade games and sing out loud in their karaoke kiosks. We really had so much fun. It’s tiring but the experience being with them is priceless!

I can’t help but visit the Pasig Rainforest Park after seeing it on tv and reading about it on the internet. So Jdam and I had a very early trip to Pasig. We ride a jeepney from Shaw Blvd. and drop off at Pasig Palengke. From there, a short tricycle ride and we’re now in the enchanting place where you can breathe the fresh air coming from the trees and flowers surrounding the park. The Pasig Rainforest Park is a project of Mayor Eusebio for the Pasigueños to provide a better quality of life to his constituents so there is no entrance fee except for the swimming pool which we didn’t try because it’s already crowded since it’s summer.
The place is well maintained and clean with great landscape. The Butterfly Garden which is inside the mini Japanese is our first destination from the entrance but no luck for us because it was closed during that time. We continue to walk and we pass by Fitness Center Gym, Children’s Playground and Senior Citizens Park. We stop by the amphitheater, play around like kids and took some shots. Still on the right, there’s a Botanical Garden, next a mini zoo, the aviary and the petting zoo. We got the chance to see upclose various animals, such as wild boars, ostriches, monkeys, pythons, bantam chickens, goats and ponies. On the large aviary, were able to check the peacocks, herons, eagle, egrets, mynahs and other bird species. On the pond, it is breed with carp, goldfish and koi fish. There are other recreational facilities which includes badminton, basketball and tennis courts. Of all the recreational facilities, the amphitheater really catches my interest because of its giant chess and unique design.
Pasig Rainforest Park is really a perfect place for families who want to relax and experience the tranquility of nature. For those who are planning to spend their weekend here, Pasig Rainforest Park is located at F. Legaspi St., Barangay Maybunga, Pasig City near corner is Eusebio Ave. You may also call the Rainforest Swimming Pool at (02)628-4291 or the Rainforest Fitness Center (02)642-5280.

Finally, me and JDAM decided to take a break from work and spend the summer weekend by having a day tour to trip to Laiya, Batangas. We ride a bus around 4am at Pasay City to so that we could arrive around 6am at Lipa City, Batangas. We get off at the bus terminal near Mc Donalds and took a tricycle going to the jeep terminal bound to San Juan, Batangas. From San Juan Market, we ride a jeepney to Barrio Hugom where you can choose a lot of resorts. We opted to inquire at Blue Coral Beach Resort only to learn that jeepneys going out to Laiya is only until 1pm. Big Problem!
We decided to stay overnight and leave early so I could still go to work at 2pm the next day. But we didn’t choose Blue Coral Beach Resort because we can’t afford their rates. So, we headed to La Luz Resort. While on our way, an old lady approach us and ask if we’re looking for a place to stay. She offered us a fan room for 1,000 for an overnight stay. The room is clean and perfect for a couple. We’re so lucky that she offered to accompany us the next day in the nearest jeepney terminal.

We didn’t waste our time and we head on to the beach. Since it’s summer, the beach is full of people playing and enjoying the sand. Families eat their lunch together, couples having a romantic moment and group of friends were having a good time. Despite being tempted to swim on the beach, I decided to just watch the people and smell the sea breeze. I’m a bit hesitant to enjoy the hot summer sun because I don’t wanna get burned, so, a night swimming would be a great idea.
When the beach was clear and the sun bid goodbye, me and Jdam swim the cold water and and had fun together alone in the dark sea. This is our first time together to travel and discover the nice beaches in Laiya, Batangas. This trip will be a memorable one for we got to enjoy the experience of going to a place where you don’t know anybody and be around with friendly people.
